EVENT - Rainer Mahlamäki to talk in Berlin, 10th November 2017
Rainer Mahlamäki will be giving a talk at the Finnish Embassy in Berlin as part of the ‘Echoes Talk: Building a Century’ event. Echoes Talk invites renowned experts in design and architecture from Finland to discuss the past, present and future of Finnish design throughout its 100 years and draws connections with the Echoes exhibition which has been touring Europe throughout the year.
Joining Rainer will be: Klaus Aalto, designer at Aalto + Aalto; Suvi Saoniemi, senior curator at the Design Museum Helsinki; Wolfgang Jean Stock, architectural historian, author critic and curator; and the moderator of the event, Florian Siebeck, journalist.
Echoes is part of the Finland100 programme, celebrating the centenary of Finland and exploring the narrative and aesthetic of Finnish architecture and design. The exhibition was created in corporation with the Embassy of Finland in Warsaw, but curated by Rainer Mahlamäki. The exhibition was launched in January in Polin, the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw, which was designed by Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects.
